This Atmos Clock is a unique Perpetual Motion Clock, needing no winding to keep running! The (RED) Atmos 561 was designed by designer Marc Newson in conjunction with Jaeger-LeCoultre for an upcoming auction benefitting the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. Today the Atmos is treated almost as a Swiss national treasure, and is certainly revered in horological circles.

Andy, the clock you refer to is an Atmos II, circa late 1944 to early 1945 depending on the actual numbers. All early Atmos clocks, both the Atmos I (Reutter Atmos) and Atmos II had different serial numbers on the case and on the movement from mid-1933 when the LeCoultre calibre 30'A movement was introduced until 4th quarter 1945 when they dropped the case number until the Atmos III was.

Beautiful 4.5 in. porcelain dial with green enameled beaded gilt brass bezel, lower moon phase sub dial and upper arched sub dials displaying temperature (Centigrade) & hygrometer, has black open moon hands with open counterbalance; runs on a 13 Jewel, 544 Calibre movement, serial number 680055, with torsion pendulum having a lockdown lever. In a beautiful polished brass case with corner columns and base plate highlighted with green enamel, hinged front door signed �Atmos, Jaeger-Le-Coultre� on a green marble base. In excellent condition & running, circa late 20th Century. 9.5 in. high x 8.5 in. wide x 6.5 in. deep.
